“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

Maya Angelou

Nothing is impossible to overcome. Not drugs, not an eating disorder, not self-harm, not panic attacks, not prison, not rape, not living on the streets with no money, no family and no hope. I can say this because I was there.

Raised in a middle class Jewish family, I learned at a young age I had no right to exist. I lived wild, out of control, on life's edge.

I was told I could have a marginal life with professional intervention. I beat the odds - I did it with God's help. In the Eye of Deception is my story - a story of healing and redemption.

In the Eye of Deception touches my heart as a long time practicing social worker/family therapist. It clearly sends a powerful message of hope to individuals suffering with past abuse and addictions. It also effectively addresses the healing process.

Once I started reading, In the Eye of Deception, I found it hard to put down. The style of writing and the content was so compelling I read it in its entirety within two days. I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with trauma issues as well as any professional working in the helping field.

"Just like moons and suns, with certainty of tides,

Just like hopes springing high,

Still I'll rise."

Maya Angelou

I knew how to fight. And I knew how to survive. My focus was on getting through one day to the next and getting there alive. It never dawned on me I could be free or happy. But even in the darkest moments, I felt it, a hunger to experience life and be fully connected, not in brokenness, but in passion, adventure, excitement and love.

Hope made the difference. Hope that pushed back despair.

From surviving to thriving!

The journey to be free!
